Meet our team

Angel: Angel grew up in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain and worked as a mountain guide and ski instructor before starting his own adventure sports company.  But after a few years building up the company he started looking for a new challenge.
So he sold the business and went travelling and it was while in Thailand that he fell in love with scuba diving.
Angel has worked and dived in more than ten countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Mexico, Honduras, Curacao,  UK, Spain and Galapagos.  He has trained more than 1500 divers, and also has more than 1500 professional-level certifications under his belt, making him one of the most experienced and respected Course Directors around.

“I am delighted that my work has brought me to Pro Dive Mexico and back to the Riviera Maya.  Being a cave diver myself it means that I can spend my free time exploring the local cenotes.”

Angel has been a Course Director since 2007 and has been awarded the prestigious Platinum status for 6 consecutive years now.  Angel is passionate about his work with disabled scuba divers and is able to teach the DDI (Disabled Divers' International) Instructors course.  He is also a TecRec and Trimix Instructor Trainer. Angel joined the Pro Dive Mexico team in 2012 and heads our GoPro Team

Angel Navarro-Moya (Spanish-Catalan-English-French)
Platinum Course Director

Jo: After learning to dive in England, Jo decided to take a break from her work and go travelling around Central America.
It was during that trip that she completed her Divemaster Course and like many, Jo fell in love with the PADI Pro way of life.  After returning to the UK she decided to make diving her career so she quit her job, sold her apartment and took her IDC (with Angel of course!)

Jo has been an Instructor since 2007, a Course Director since 2013 and has a wealth of experience in both teaching divers and IDCs.   As an ex-lawyer, Jo is our Risk Management guru.

Jo Armitage (English- Spanglish!)
Course Director

Javi: Tired of working as a software engineer for more than 12 years, Javi left Spain and started a trip arround the world.
But the world ended 11 month later in Honduras.  There he took his Open Water course and he has never stopped diving.
He worked as a Divemaster in Utila for few months and then decided to take the next step, become an instructor.  He took the IDC with Angel in 2011 and has been working as an instructor since then.

Javi joined our GoPro team in late 2012 where he runs our Divemaster programs and assists our IDCs.
